Chuck currently holds the slot for the member with the longest active time on the board – 46 years! He is an attorney employed with Hinshaw & Culbertson in Rockford and a long-term member of the OSF Hospital Board. Chuck has been extremely instrumental for advice and business guidance.
Ben joined the bank in 1976 (former engineer), was President and is now the Chairman of the Board. His leadership skills have brought Byron Bank from $4 mm to over $250 mm. His ability to see the needs of the bank as we have grown has been amazing. He is a very hard worker who sets a great example for all the bank employees. Ben has been on the board for 35 years.
Gail joined the bank as an internal auditor in 1984 and is now the Vice President of Marketing. She has been instrumental in the hiring of employees, helping retain those “excellent” hires and in the marketing of Byron Bank. She has also been active in many volunteer organizations. Gail has been on the board for 35 years.
Neal is an educator turned banker! Neal loved the experience he gained so much on the board that he retired from teaching and joined Byron Bank as a mortgage loan officer. With 22 years on the board, the respect he receives from customers and employees is amazing. He demonstrates a loyal commitment to Byron Bank.
Mike is a former Wisconsin banker who came to Byron Bank in 1990. He is now the President. Mike has been active in many Byron organizations and instrumental in the growth of Byron Bank with his 19 years on the board.
John owns his own business, Information Controls, Inc., that specializes in computer technology and marketing. His three sons have now joined John and his wife, Linda, in their business. He has been active with SwedishAmerican Hospital and Crusader Clinic and has served on the board for 12 years.
Denny joined the board as a representative from the Poplar Grove area. He has been on the board for five years. He worked at Emery Air for many years and now, he and his wife, Kim, restore antique autos to their former beauty.
Jen is a former CPA turned banker. Jen quickly learned the banking side of the ledger sheet. She now works at Byron Bank as a Financial Analyst and has been on the board for four years.
Ron has brought a lot of knowledge to the board gained from his years working for Willett, Hoffman & Associates, his time on professional boards and his many years serving on the Meridian Unit School District Board. Ron has been on the board for four years.
