CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE

Job Summary:

A Customer Service Representative (CSR) with Byron Bank helps customers with their teller transactions and telephone requests. They process customer transactions efficiently and accurately be it a deposit, loan payment, cashing a check, or answering a telephone call. They actively listen to customers and meet their needs by completing the transaction or referring them to another department. They provide outstanding customer service.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Scan transactions and proof work for Retail and Loan departments.
  • Read, understand, and follow Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) policy to include currency transaction reporting, monetary log reporting, and customer information program. 
  • Listen for opportunities to add additional products or services during transaction processing and refer to the corresponding department. 
  • Complete required training assigned by Compliance, Human Resources, or BSA departments. 

Process a variety of customer transactions including:

  • Account Management-Assist customers with opening and closing accounts, ordering checks, processing address changes, and setting up safe deposit box access.
  • Transaction Processing- Handle deposits, withdrawals, check cashing, and loan payments at the teller line. Issue cashier checks, money orders, gift cards, and license stickers.
  • Issue Resolution-Investigate errors, follow up on customer inquiries.
  • Fraud Mitigation-Verify customer identity, watch for and identify counterfeit currency and fraudulent checks, work with the AML Officer on suspicious transactions.
  • Sales and Cross-Selling-Educate customers on the benefits of bank products.
  • Process and log mail, night drop, and courier bags.

Answer customer service calls and complete requests including:

  • Online Banking questions including Zelle.
  • Password resets. 
  • Account transfers. 
  • Travel Notices. 
  • Retail product rate inquiries, fall below fees or dollar amount, or other account questions.
  • Debit card activation and pin questions.
  • CD renewal request. 
  • Various additional requests that may be asked.

LOAN OPERATIONS MANAGER

Job Summary:

The Loan Operations Manager is responsible for effectively supporting the lending team for commercial, consumer, and mortgage loans across all branches. This individual will develop, document, and implement best practices in the loan operations area; be a proactive leader and team player with the ability to be influential and establish positive working relationships across the organization and will act as liaison with other branches, departments, and vendors.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage three Loan Operations staff.
  • Develop, motivate, and train staff, including planning and delegating work assignments and projects.
  • Evaluate performance, administer quarterly touch points and deliver performance evaluations. Establish clear expectations and hold employees accountable to performance and behaviors aligned with our culture.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Loan Operations:

  • Manage the daily operations of the department in an efficient and innovative manner. Establish and maintain a productive and positive working environment.
  • Achieve and refine departmental goals within defined timelines.
  • Lead projects including documentation project (scanning and organizing loan documentation to meet company electronic file policies).
  • Interact with the lending staff(s) to maintain and improve both accuracy and efficiency through collaborative leadership.

Quality Control:

MORTGAGE LOAN PROCESSOR II

Job Summary:

The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for managing a pipeline in conjunction with our Mortgage Lenders to ensure all loans are closed in a timely manner and in accordance with regulatory requirements. Individuals  would have the capabilities of handling each aspect of the loan from start to finish; initial disclosures through the closing process. 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Production Processor:

  • Manage Applications-Review mortgage applications for completeness, collect required paperwork, and assemble files for underwriting.

  • Route Files-Assign new internet-received mortgage applications to loan officers and generate unique loan numbers.

  • Send Initial Disclosures-Prepare and issue early loan disclosures while strictly meeting TRID guidelines and compliance.

  • Execute Re-Disclosures-Complete file re-disclosures for locked loans or changed circumstances in compliance with TRID timelines.

  • Coordinate Verifications-Order flood certifications, title commitments, appraisals, homeowner's insurance, and required VOEs/VODs.

  • Monitor Pipelines-Track compliance alerts, follow up with loan officers on aging files, and liaise with borrowers.

  • Clear Conditions-Clear and satisfy underwriting conditions efficiently in direct conjunction with the loan officer.

  • Liaise Externally-Communicate seamlessly with realtors, attorneys, and third-party title companies throughout the process.

  • Update Customers-Provide borrowers with timely, periodic status updates regarding their active loan applications.

  • Handle Denials-Complete and mail out formal adverse action notifications for denied or withdrawn files.

  • Protect Data-Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and discretion regarding sensitive customer and bank information.

  • Drive Improvement-Contribute directly to the continuous development and improvement of bank lending policies and procedures.

Loan Closing:

  • Assemble Closing Packages-Prepare closing packages tailored to Secondary Market Investors and Byron Bank in-house loans.

  • Finalize Numbers-Partner with local title companies to verify final numbers and ensure timely closing package delivery.

  • Verify Employment-Complete mandatory 10-day Verbal Verifications of Employment (VVOE) prior to mortgage closings.

  • Report HMDA Data-Complete and log final Home Mortgage Disclosure Act information in Wolters Kluwer software.

  • Post-Close Review-Thoroughly process signed closing packages, track collateral, balance loan tickets, and record documents.

  • Audit Insurance-Review final insurance documents to verify accuracy of the required mortgage clauses.

  • Load Core Systems-Successfully load finalized and booked loan data directly into our core banking system.

  • Fund Grant Programs-Prepare complex funding packages for Illinois League Down Payment Plus grants and IHDA.

  • Manage Investor Sales-Facilitate the preparation of funding packages for Servicing Sold Loans.

  • Track and Image Documents-Image and track all recorded mortgages and title policies while following up on missing items.
